🛂Vietnamese Passport Keeps Climbing the Ranks🛂

According to the 2026 Global Passport Ranking released by Henley & Partners, the Vietnamese passport has continued to improve its position, now ranking 84th in the world, up 6 spots from the December 2025 ranking.

This shows that international travel for Vietnamese citizens is becoming increasingly convenient. This index evaluates the freedom of movement for citizens of various countries based on the number of destinations they can enter without needing a visa in advance.

Currently, Vietnamese citizens can enter 48 destinations without a visa or just need to apply for an e-visa, visa on arrival, or ETA (electronic travel authorisation) out of a total of 199 countries and territories.

Among them, there are 23 destinations with visa-free entry, 22 countries offering visa on arrival (VOA), and some countries applying electronic entry authorisation systems (ETA).

The 23 countries and territories that offer complete visa-free entry to Vietnamese citizens include: Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Brunei, Myanmar, Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Panama, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Barbados, Belarus, Chile, Cook Islands, Dominica, Micronesia, Mongolia, Rwanda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname.

In the Southeast Asian region, holders of Vietnamese passports are visa-exempt in 9 countries, with common stay durations ranging from 14 to 30 days depending on each country's regulations.

Besides countries offering visa-free entry or visa on arrival, Vietnamese citizens can also enter many countries via electronic visa (e-visa).

Destinations applying e-visa include: Albania, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Colombia, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Georgia, Guinea, India, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Moldova, Montserrat, Morocco, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, The Bahamas, Togo, Turkey, Uganda, UAE, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, St. Helena, St. Kitts and Nevis.
