Kota Kinabalu has many beautiful islands like Manukan or Sapi, but Mengalum Island - the farthest island is also the most beautiful island around this city.
About 1.5 hours by speedboat from the mainland, Mengalum is a paradise almost isolated from the world. Crystal-clear seawater, you can see schools of colorful fish swimming, vast coral reefs and white sand beaches as fine as powder.
Because it's a "far island", there are fewer tourists, the water is clearer and the marine ecosystem is still very pristine. When the tide comes in, the sea surface turns blue - emerald green - silvery blue like jelly, so beautiful it's almost unreal.
